Why to Fulsh DNS?
Mostly a computer is connected to the internet through cache of the computer and the ISP with hostname of the websites one visits once. This is automatic in most instance (unless changed purposely) to make reloading the pages faster. If you are running into a lot of “Page Not Found” errors on your particular computer and you know you’re connected to the internet, try flushing your DNS cache to have your computer request new information.
To flush DNS for a computer running Windows, please follow these steps:
Windows® 8
- Press Win+X to open the WinX Menu.
- Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
-
Enter the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns
If the command was successful, you will see the following message:Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
Windows Vista requires that you run the command prompt in Administrator Mode to perform these functions. To start the command prompt in administrator mode:
Click Start.
Select Programs.
Select Accessories and locate the Command Prompt shortcut.
Right click the Command Prompt shortcut and select Run as Administrator from the drop down menu.
Continue with the Windows XP directions (step 2) below.
Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
